CSIRO’s Energy Transformed Flagship, in collaboration with Core Energy Group Pty Ltd, has developed a powerful new software simulator for Australia’s gas and electricity markets. GENERSYS is a scenario development tool that allows agent-based modelling and simulation of energy futures for periods longer than 30 years. It captures complex interactions between market participants, technical infrastructure, government policy, climate, and energy supply and demand. GENERSYS allows major electricity and gas players to make better strategic, investment and operational decisions, and also to evaluate their impact on financial performance and greenhouse gas emissions. AGL Energy is a development partner for GENERSYS and the first big company to receive a corporate-wide license of GENERSYS.
